Unique Professional Services for

Teachers in International Schools

The Teacher Training Center (TTC), a program sponsored by the Principals' Training Center, provides training in classroom instructional and assessment strategies, uniquely tailored to the needs of the international school.

Teaching in international schools demands some unique skills. Now, we are pleased to offer full recognition for TTC participants through our Certification in International Teaching.

The TTC provides an array of services including:
  • A series of 5-day courses in London and Miami

  • Opportunity to earn a Masters degree through TTC programs

  • One and two-day institutes at numerous regional education conferences

  • Customized workshops and consulting onsite at international schools worldwide

  • Web resources for international teachers

  • What 2009 participants have said about the benefits of the TTC Institutes:
“I’ve walked away from TTC with a better understanding of how to increase student learning. I’ll be back.” Ozren Soldo American Intl School of Zagreb, HS History and TOK Teacher
“A great opportunity to come together with other international teachers. It was a week of learning, laughing, and reflecting. I am taking back a body of knowledge that will improve my practice.” Elizabeth Heard, Hong Kong Academy, Grade 2 Teacher
“I am leaving TTC with three things: a sense of affirmation about all that my school does well; some great new ideas, activities and strategies to try right away; and some new friends. That’s pretty good for a 5 day experience! Debbie Studwell, American School in Japan, Grade 4 Teacher

“The TTC experience was not only about learning curriculum writing for me. It’s much more beyond that; the experience was inspiring, it gave me a new perspective about how certain issues related to curriculum could be done at my school.” Nur Ozluk, The Koc School, English Teacher

“As a new teacher going to a start-up school, it was extremely useful to collaborate with teachers who have a broad breadth of experience at schools all over the world with varying levels of curriculum preparedness.  It was especially interesting to see that despite many different mission statements and approaches to education, we could all apply similar methods and action plans to help finesse our individual school curricula.  Kudos to the class content for being well-defined and informative.”  Brandon Ballara, Dalian American International School, Secondary Math Teacher

“As a teacher leader, I discovered so many practical ways in which to have more productive dialogue and progress with my team.  These are great tools which will alter my approach in many ways!”  Mariam Mathew, HS Technology Coordinator, The American School in London

“Our 5 day course was chock full of hands-on learning and expert instruction.  I now have the skills and tools I need to make valuable changes at my school.”  Karyn Wynn, International School of Kuala Lumpur, Kindergarten Teacher
