Deidre currently resides in Adelaide (South Australia) and provides consultancy services to school leaders, boards, teachers and administration support staff through her company: DF Education (www.deidrefischer.com.au). Deidre has been a Head of School/Director in 3 different countries together with the roles of Principal and teacher in many more throughout her career in education. Through her business in the past 5 years Deidre has worked with clients in the Middle East, Africa and SE Asia, as well as Australia. Her consulting services offer a range of services and has led her to teaching within the Endicott College’s Masters Degree in international education, working with start-up ventures, workshops for the IBO on inquiry/ATL and IB leadership, designing on-line learning, creating curriculum, school audits, and a variety of workshops for schools. Her mission is to improve the quality of learning for students through her work in schools with different stakeholders. Through her work, she focuses on practical ways in which participants can apply new learnings in their own context and create connections with the school’s mission.
Deidre’s qualifications and teaching experience include Business Management and Accounting, as well as a Masters in Curriculum and Administration. She believes that ‘the grass is greener where you water it’: identifying and nurturing potential, building relationships through trust as well as building capacity within schools.
