Measuring Your Mission: the ‘Do or Die’ Job of Governance!

Facilitated by: Chip Barder and Bambi Betts

TBA

School governance holds the reins to the future of every student who joins the school community. Are we keeping the promises we make in our mission?

What will we learn?

Join us to explore tools and questions:

What are the components of an exemplary mission?

  • How do we as a board know that we are meeting our mission?

  • What does a mission-based data dashboard look like?

  • What does safeguarding look like?

  • What would cause us to want to revisit the mission?

  • What do individual board members need to be skilled at to contribute to this process?

  • Should we be more focused as a board on how the mission is being achieved or on whether it is being achieved? Focus on programs or evidence?

  • Mission achievement is a long term affair - how much should we put into capturing the long term effect?

  • What is the actual work of the board in this process?

Who is it for?

  • Board members, owners and others involved in school governance

  • School heads
