Curriculum Leadership in the International School Online: 23 - 29 June 2025
Unpacking a rich standard, exploring learning data to plan responsive instruction, or considering how to best scaffold simultaneous content and language learning are some of the things that fill Matt’s leadership cup. Matt is currently the Head of Primary School at Atlanta International School (AIS) in the United States. AIS is his fifth international school, but now back in his home country after 13 years abroad. Matt has previously worked in Belgium, Brazil, Colombia, and Honduras. He has served diverse learning communities in roles ranging from classroom teacher, EAL teacher, instructional coach, Teaching and Learning Data Specialist, Lower School Director of Teaching and Learning, and Assistant Director of Learning for Language Development. His passion is praxis, particularly with language acquisition, literacy, and conceptual mathematics - helping teachers and leaders apply current research in practical ways within their contexts. Matt loves adventuring outdoors with his toddler, wife, and two dogs.
