Contact: mschaub@aswarsaw.org
Melissa Schaub, a self-proclaimed assessment geek, has had the pleasure and honor of spending the last 30 years in international schools in Mexico, Venezuela, Romania, Russia, Nigeria, and currently, Poland working with teachers and teams to enhance learning for students. She has served in a variety of leadership roles including elementary principal, director of learning and deputy superintendent of learning. Each chapter of her professional journey has provided rich experiences that have deepened her commitment to "get assessment practices right". As an instructional leader training, supporting and celebrating teachers in their work to design authentic, meaningful and aligned packages of teaching and learning is her professional passion.
Additionally, Melissa believes deeply in the collective work being done to reimagine schools where students actively drive their own learning within an environment where all belong. This includes rethinking our most essential learning outcomes, the learning structures of space, place and time, the role of digital learning to expand opportunity, and the intentional inclusion of social-emotional learning.
Melissa has her Master's Degree in Elementary Education and Administrative Certification through The College of New Jersey and is a graduate of the PTC Essential Skills program. She is currently preparing to complete her EdD in Instructional Leadership from Wilkes University.
