Vickie is an experienced international educator with over 20 years of experience in teaching, leadership, and professional development. Her career has taken her to different countries, including the United States, Hungary, Vietnam, Panama, Taiwan, and Mexico. Throughout her career, she has held various roles, including teacher, instructional coach, principal, director of teaching and learning, and consultant. These diverse experiences have given her a deep understanding of the education system and how to make a positive impact on the lives of students and educators around the world.

In the fall of 2023, Vickie joined the American School Foundation in Monterrey, where she empowers and champions learners, teachers, and students in their pursuit of excellence. Her core belief is that teacher empowerment is essential for creating a strong and sustainable education system. Throughout her career, she has worked to develop teacher leaders who can inspire and motivate their colleagues, creating a positive ripple effect throughout their schools and communities.

In addition to her passion for education, Vickie is dedicated to environmental sustainability. She believes that education should not only be focused on academic success but also on developing well-rounded individuals who care about the world around them. She strives to create a learning environment that encourages students to become active and engaged global citizens who are committed to making a positive impact on society. She has worked on various initiatives, both in and out of the classroom, to promote sustainability and environmental awareness.

Vickie is also committed to advancing competency-based skills throughout the curriculum. She believes that students need to develop a wide range of skills beyond academic subjects to succeed in the modern world. She has worked to develop curricula and programs that emphasize critical thinking, problem-solving, collaboration, communication, and creativity.

In recent years, Vickie has focused on developing compassionate humans. She believes that education should not only be about acquiring knowledge and skills but also about developing empathy, kindness, and a sense of social responsibility. She has worked to create programs that teach students about diversity, inclusion, and social justice, and encourages them to take action in their communities.

When she is not working, Vickie enjoys long-distance hiking, traveling, and learning more about organic gardening. Recently, she and her husband hiked from northern France to Rome, Italy, and volunteered on an organic farm in Ireland, which was an incredible experience. She feels fortunate to have had the opportunity to explore new cultures and connect with like-minded people who care about environmental stewardship.

Throughout her career, Vickie has been committed to promoting excellence in education and supporting teachers and students. She is always eager to collaborate with others interested in providing the best for each learner, every day, in every way!
